MY UGLY STORY
Let's face it, these boots are remarkably ugly, so that's where the name comes from . But we are all know that ugly is new black and these boots are really comfortable - Pretty Ugly!
Fashion trends make us think that these boots are something new and fresh or old and forgotten, well yes and no. History of Ugly Boots goes back for over 70 years to New Zealand and Australia. 20 - 30 years ago radical surfers pioneered these boots, why? Try to spend hours in cold water then put your shoes back on. Since then these boots sat quietly in sub-culture for decades until recent fashion explosion. Uglies, Ugly Boots, UxxGs, Sheepskin Boots, oversized and glorified slippers; call them what you like! There is nothing as warm and comfortable, period!
My Ugly Boots are only made in New Zealand with our manufacturing history dating to 1970s. We use only the finest "five star" quality twin-faced sheepskin.
Twin-faced sheepskin is very luxurious sheepskin with 17mm dense inner wool fleece and outer sheepskin suede processed to finest quality.
The inner wool fleece in My Ugly Boots is extremely dense giving it cushioning capability, providing you with comfort, no pressure points and durability. In addition wool allows air to circulate providing even more comfort. My Ugly Boots inner wool fleece has the ability to absorb moisture up to 30% of its own weight and pass it on the outer side where it evaporates. Sheepskin is an excellent insulator and therefore will keep your feet warm in temperatures as low as -30°C and cool in temperatures as high as 25°C. So you can wear your favourite My Ugly Boots all year round.
Have you ever seen those girls walking around in sheepskin boots with heels completely collapsed? It's because most of manufacturers use cardboard paper in the heel for support! Quality of My Ugly Boots can not be compared to others.
We use flexible synthetic rubber/latex inserts in our heels heat molded to sole of the boot. Many styles of My Ugly Boots come on all weather sole with replaceable sheepskin insoles.
